Ember & Pulse was founded by Cacia Wilkinson: a strategist, collaborator and natural dot connector who has spent her career bringing people, ideas and opportunities together. This is the thinking behind it, and the way we work.
Why Ember & Pulse exists.
For a long time, I built my career inside established organisations. Over more than sixteen years in healthcare, I worked across commercial roles, marketing, business development and NHS partnership working. I learnt a huge amount about organisations, people, healthcare systems and what it really takes to move an idea from a conversation into something that works in practice.
But somewhere along the way, a question started getting louder: what else could I build if I gave myself permission to think differently?
Seeing an opportunity, making sense of something complicated, introducing people who should know each other, spotting where someone else’s expertise could unlock a problem, and helping an idea become a plan and then something real.
Life outside work also changed my relationship with time, purpose and what success meant to me. It reinforced a principle I now return to often: control the controllables. We cannot control every outcome, but we can choose where we put our energy, the standards we set, the people we work with and what we try to create.
Ember & Pulse grew from that thinking. Not as a traditional consultancy, but as a platform where good people, good ideas and good opportunities can find each other, where commercial thinking and genuine care for people can coexist, and where collaboration is seen as a strength.
Today, Ember & Pulse works across strategy, healthcare, growth, implementation, leadership and people development, digital enablement, events and workplace wellbeing. Sometimes I deliver the work directly. Sometimes I work alongside trusted partners. Sometimes the most valuable thing I can do is bring together the right combination of people through the Ember & Pulse Circle.
